La scuola è fuori

Thanks to Citizens in Action (2022-2025), five secondary schools from four European
countries—Italy, Greece, Latvia, and Romania—participated in an educational journey focused on
active citizenship and the core values of the European Union. The project included training, local
research, a trip to Brussels with hearings at EU institutions, a European Citizenship Rebirth
Ceremony , and awareness-raising activities.

Our Association’s Role

Confine Mondo conceived and co-authored the project, built the partnership, and ensured its
cohesion throughout its duration. Additionally, we supported the coordination of all activities,
acting as a subcontractor.

Key Objectives:

  • Understanding European integration and its challenges

Exploring gender-based violence prevention and landscape protection

  • Learning about citizens' rights and responsibilities in the EU

  • Engaging in dialogue with EU institutions on current issues

  • Experiencing European citizenship through direct involvement

Project Phases:

1. Preparation (Year 1) – Training on the EU, active citizenship, gender equality, and landscape
protection as European heritage.
2. Active Experience (Year 2) – Workshops, data collection, and drafting of Let’s Give Voice to
Citizens!; a trip to Brussels, where students presented their work in expert hearings and participated
in the European Citizenship Rebirth Ceremony.
3. Dissemination (Year 3) – Sharing experiences and organizing awareness-raising events in local
communities.

Citizens in Action was a highly successful project, empowering students to become active
participants in a more conscious and engaged Europe.
